About Classic Canines

IMG_3234 (1).jpg

Our advocacy started in 2012 at Austin Animal Center when we noticed hundreds of senior dogs flooded the shelter system yearly, in need of  a pathway out, while being overlooked by the younger choices all around them. In need of help, our goal has been to minimize their shelter stay days, while paving a pathway out with fosters and adopters.  Some have sadly lost their people and the only home they've every know, some have been abandoned and discarded, and many have been neglected. We have been hard at work lifting senior dogs up and out ever since. Starting in 2017 we've been providing resources like medical care, end of life care, supplies, transportation, a vast tool set needed to restore bodies and spirits, and close gaps to a home outcome. We've expanded services to help other local shelters, and to assist owners, caregivers and rescues, that are helping to move senior dogs out of the local shelter systems.

Helping Our Community

We work hard to keep Classic Canines outside of the shelter system and support those in our community that needs our help.

2

Shelter Support

We provide support for Classic Canines within the shelter system through care. This includes medical supplies, enrichment, winter clothing, special food, and other resources needed to help them during their stay in shelter
